Two streams joining at a waterfall is an uncommon occurrence. At Rainbow Falls,
a side stream falls down the side of the gorge to join the main stream near
the end of a three-part waterfall.

| Walking Directions | Rainbow falls is visible from the gorge trail (in fact, it passes both over
and under the trail). It is the next major waterfall upstream from
Central Cascade. There are several cascades
between Central Cascade and Rainbow Falls that may make interesting photographs
as well, but are not detailed here.
