Lewis Spring Falls

Lewis Spring Falls is especially attractive because of the surrounding plants on all sides of the falls (when viewed from the overlook).

Height75 feet
Walking DirectionsPark at the unmarked lot on the west side of Skyline Drive just south of the parking lot on the east for Big Meadows (about milepost 51.5). Walk down the gravel road that starts at the parking lot for about 1/4 mile to where the Appalachain Trail crosses the road. Continue on the road several hundred feet to a trail on the left. Follow this trail about 3/4 mile to a fork; take the left fork. It is less than 1/4 mile to the falls overlook.
To reach the base, head back from the falls viewing area to the valley overlook near the top of the falls. A small (unmaintained) trail begins here and leads to the base after several switchbacks. Use caution on this trail, as it is steep, narrow, follows cliff edges, and portions of it are covered in loose rocks.
The exposed sky at the top of the falls when viewed from the base also mean that the best photos will probably be made from the overlook.
